The Return Of The Rising Gods Of The East



This week, marks another history in KPOP as two of the "legendary Idols" who made a big impact not only to Korea but also worldwide, returns. From the duo group, Dong Bang Shin Ki or DBSK, Max Changmin and U-Know (Yunho) both released their solo songs after completing their mandatory enlistment for two years. SM Entertainment, their label referred it as, TVXQ Week. 

Starting off last September 25th, U-Know (Yunho) came back with a strong and manly aura in his music video, "Drop". Netizens have been in awe as he looks exactly the same as before. The Music Video not only highlighted his charms but also his vocals and his amazing dancing skills. 





Following Yunho, last September 28th, Changmin showed a refreshing, mellow vibe in his music video, "In A Different Life". Looking at the beautiful sunset, and just peacefully walking alone, on top is his soothing voice, he displayed a lovable and light aura.



Respectively, after their solo releases, they will kick off their concert tours starting at Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Their stage will be called “TVXQ! Special Comeback Live — YouR PresenT”. This will be a perfect time for them to interact with their fans and also to perform their hit songs after a long time.


Tong Vfang Xien Qi or TVXQ, Tohoshinki or as referred by many, Dong Bang Shin Ki or DBSK, debuted as a quintet group in 2003. During 2010, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu withdrawn from the group, making the group as a duo with Changmin and Yunho. Their distinctive music and style have brought recognition not only to themselves but also to the whole KPOP Community.

B1A4 Gives Off A Refreshing Vibe In Their New Music Video!



B1A4 makes their return in their newest MV. Their title track, Rollin' is part of their 7th album under the same name which consists of the following tracks, I Need You, Love Emotion, Smile Mask, Give Me A Call and Like A Child. Give lots of love for B1A4!

A New Couple To Look Out For



Lee Jong Suk and Suzy are the newest k-drama couple fans should look out for. "While You Were Sleeping" is set to air on the last week of September. Following the trailers, SBS revealed the first stills of the two sitting on the bus while Jong Suk rests on Suzy's shoulder. 




The story will be about a woman named Nam Hong Joo (Suzy) who can foresees her future through her dream and a prosecutor named Jung Jae Chan (Lee Jong Suk) who will help her prevent the predictions from coming true. The drama will air every Wednesday and Thursday premiering on the 27th.

Kimchi Damgeugi Or Kimchi Making As Part Of The National Intangible Cultural Heritage Item



Every Korean restaurants may it be in Korea or here in the Philippines, serves side dishes as already part of the locals' everyday lives and one notable side dish that everyone loves is kimchi. Passed from generations to generations, this iconic dish has been loved due to its distinct flavor and health benefits. 

Main reason why, the Cultural Heritage Administration or CHA formally declares 'Kimchi damgeugi' or Kimchi making as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage Item. Being already recognized by UNESCO since 2013, CHA stated that Kimchi Damgeugi is a broader concept that embraces all types of kimchi made in different parts of Korea. 

CHA also stated that kimchi symbolizes Korean's cooperative and camaraderie that still continues today and the valuable culture which has been passed down thru decades.

Kim Damgeugi is only part of the aspects of intangible culture that is declared by the Government of Korea in accordance to the law that aims to preserve its rich culture.

2017 White Night World Tour: Taeyang Live in Manila



After Manila experienced "DaraGon Syndrome" last September 1st during G-Dragon's Motte III Concert in Manila, another Bigbang member will swoon you as Taeyang will be also having his solo concert. Taeyang has successfully concluded his US Tour and went straightly to Vancouver, Canada for a two-day concert on the 14th and 15th and will be travelling around Asia starting off in Manila on the 22nd. 

Get ready as he will perform his hit songs, ‘Ringa Linga’, ‘Look Only At Me’, ‘I Need a Girl’, ‘1AM’, and ‘Eyes, Nose Lips’ as well as his songs from his album, 'White Night' including ‘Wake Me Up’, ‘Naked’, ‘Empty Road’ etc.

There's nothing new about Interracial Romance Films or films which involves two actors with different nationalities. This unique storyline will finally hit the Philippines local theaters this coming September 27. 

You With Me is a Filipino-Korean Rom-Com Film about a Filipina (played by Devon Seron) who seeks freedom from her over-protective parents and found everything that she is looking for in Korea as she works as an English teacher along the way, she will also learn something in return, it is to love. 

Since the release of the movie poster and movie trailer, Filipino k-drama and k-movie enthusiasts have been patiently waiting and excitement is already building up online.

[HIGHLIGHTS] The 26th Philippine-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival : 길(Road): WE GO TOGETHER







The 26th Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival was held last September 9, 2017 at the Aliw Theater, Pasay where Korean culture enthusiasts and supporters enjoyed a day filled of appreciation, festivities and entertainment.


The attendees were welcome with a Hallyu or Korean Wave experience through Kpop related activities, wearing Hanbok, varied Korean street food, and traditional cultural performances. They were also able to enjoy other freebies from the participating sponsors and organizations.




The two-part program was hosted by Ms. Sam Oh who definitely liven up the show. The first part of the program was the Annual Talent Competition where a total of twenty talented Filipino and Korean participants battled it out, showcasing their vocal prowess and dance moves as they performed in each others language. The panel of judges were comprised of President Kang Chang Ik (UKCA), Director Lee Jin Cheol (KCC); Jeong Dong Su (OFFROAD); Famous Filipino Musician, Composer and Conductor Mr. Ryan Cayabyab and Award Winning-Filipino Soprano Ms. Rachelle Gerodias-Park. Prima ballerina, Ms. Lisa Macuja-Elizalde was represented by Mr. Jonathan Janolo (Ballet Manila).



This years winners under the singing category were Merry Mia Sinaguinan (First), Aaliyan Pizzara (Second), and Andrea Fe Padilla (Third) while the Dancing Category winners were Array (First), Fraction (Second), and Cainta Sejong School (Third). The over-all Grand Prize winner was Venisse Nicole Sy who performed Ailees I Will Go to You Like the First Snow.






The second part of the program was the anticipated “Phil-Kor Concert, honoring the friendship between Philippines and Korea for nearly seventy years that has gone beyond the military ties and now strengthened by political, economic, and socio-cultural bond aided by the Korean wave.



Starting with the Media Performance Team, they took the audience to a journey from the first encounter up to its vision of moving forward together. The Serotonin Performing Arts Company enticed the audience with the rhythm of their drums while the Busan National Gugak Team graced the stage with their Korean traditional dances, and even collaborated with the local Korea Cultural Center Performing Team, Nara for a fan dance. Ballet Manila awed everyone with their stunning moves, as the Kpop group OFFROAD brought the house down with their charms. The Serotonin and Ballet Manila also had a powerful collaboration which surprised the audience.















Special videos also highlighted the important points from the past and the promise of nourishing the friendship between both countries in the future. Filipino and Korean personalities like Mr. Freddie Aguilar, VJ Sunny Kim, and Ms. Hanna Lee shared their thoughts and experiences with each otherculture, representing three generations in an exclusive interview video.


The show ended with a collaborative performance of Awitin Mo, sang in Tagalog and in Korean, symbolizing the camaraderie between the Filipinos and the Koreans.





Learning from the past, nourishing the present, and ensuring the future to go together is the goal of this event. To continue a long lasting friendship, the two countries will continue to interact with one another through collaborative events. Here, the best of each country's diverse cultures will be put on the best stage as a way to educate each other.
